The Real Victim of Islam: Islamic Civilization.
According to a 2017 poll by the Pew Research Center), 100% of Afghan Muslims want shariah as the official law of the land. In Iraq it's 90%. In Malaysia, Pakistan and Morocco it's more than 80%. The only Muslim-majority country where fewer than 50% of Muslims want shariah as the official law is Turkey.
Believe it or not, Beirut was the most exciting city of the Mediterranean Sea,
the Paris of the Middle East. Believe it or not, Somalia had one of the
most vibrant music scenes in Africa, with night-clubs packed by an international crowd. Believe it or not, Afghanistan was the most modern and literate country
in Central Asia. Believe it or not, Iran was the most modern country in the
Middle East, way more modern than Israel. This was not a thousand years ago: it was merely 40-50 years ago.
Today we think Somalia and Afghanistan as poor, war-torn places;
and Lebanon as an imploding country; and Iran as one of the poorest
and least developed countries.

There is little left of their old glory. The population of the Arab world
used to be the
second wealthiest in the world after the West: India was starving, China was
starving under Mao, Eastern Europe was starving under Soviet domination,
Latin America was starving under fascist and communist dictators, Sub-Saharan
Africa was starving under all sorts of mad dictators.
The Arabs instead had a relatively good economy, first as European colonies and
then under Westernized kings.
Then came the wave of Islamic fundamentalism. It emanated out of Saudi Arabia,
thanks to its sudden prosperity due to the Western oil-based economy,
and out of Iran, thanks to a failed revolution against a puppet dictator of the West (installed by Britain and the USA to protect Western oil interests).
It spread to Pakistan, it conquered Afghanistan, it spread to Africa, it conquered Somalia,
it spread to the Middle East, and it conquered all the countries from Iraq to Libya.
And it keeps expanding, with affiliates in Nigeria (Boko Haram) and Mozambique.

The West is to be blamed for thinking of the Islamic world in terms of oil
wells, but ultimately it is the local populations that invested those revenues
in religion rather than in science and technology.
The Muslim populations of these regions have themselves to blame.
It is obvious that Islam, funded with oil money, has been the cause of their
plunge into dictatorship, poverty, anarchy, ignorance, civil war and terrorism.
Despite what a blind man can see what Islam has done to them,
both the media and the public opinion of the Islamic world (not to mention its hypocritical politicians) keep blaming the West, the CIA, Israel, etc for what in reality is an attack by Islam on their societies.
Call yourself something else, not a "Muslim", and it will be obvious to you who your enemy is.
I still have the draft of an article that i started writing in June 2015.
I started writing that article on
June 26th and these were the headlines (in just one day):
"Tunisia attack on Sousse beach kills 39",
"Kuwait Shia mosque blast death toll rises to 27",
"Man decapitated at factory near Lyon",
"Islamic State kills 120 civilians in Kobane",
"Al-Shabab kills 30 at African Union military base".
I was revising this article on June 30th, unsure whether i really wanted
to post yet another anti-Islamic rant, and the news were
"More than 100 dead in Egypt's North Sinai" and that
Boko Haram suicide bombers (including a 12-year-old girl) killed
33 people in Chad's capital N'Djamena, 40 people in several attacks in Niger
and 10 people at Nigeria's Wagir market in just the month of June.
The following month (July):
Boko Haram gunmen killed 118 people in the northwestern Nigerian city of Kukawa, a girl blew herself up in a mosque in in Malari village, six suicide bombers attacked the village of Zabamari, a suicide bomber attacked a church in Potiskum, and other killings took place around Borno state for a total of more than 200 dead, plus a twin bomb attack on the central Nigerian city of Jos that killed 44, a suicide bomber that killed 25 in Zaria, and scores killed in attacks on Kalwa and Gwollam villages in Borno state, while other members of the group slit the throats of 26 civilians in Chad and others killed more than 30 people in northern Cameroon towns and kidnap more than 100.
In the same month Al-Shabab killed 14 workers in northern Kenya.
In August:
Islamists killed 12 people in a hotel in central Mali, and
about 150 people drowned in a river or were shot dead fleeing Boko Haram gunmen in Kukuwa-Gar.
In September: Boko Haram suicide bombings killed at least 30 in north Cameroon
and more than 140 people in Maiduguri and Monguno,
while Muslims killed 21 Christians in the Central African Republic's capital Bangui.
In October an Islamist attack killed 38 in Chad's Baga Sola town and
almost 100 people were killed in Turkey's worst terrorist attack ever.
Meanwhile ISIS was destroying antiquities (mainly in Palmyra) that had survived thousands of years of wars and executing all sorts of people for not being
Muslim enough, causing an exodus of millions of refugees out of Syria towards
Turkey and then Europe.
Overwhelmed by the sheer numbers, in 2015 i didn't publish that article and i shelved it. But here is the conclusions that i had prepared.
Muslims need to be honest:
a) The Christian world (as imperfect as it is) created a much better society to live in (and way more tolerant of other religions) than the Islamic world. They (the Muslims of the world) move by the millions to the Christian world, not viceversa. Refugees from Islamic countries look for asylum in Christian countries, and try to leave fellow Islamic countries as soon as they can.
b) It is not the rest of the world that wants to destabilize the Islamic world, it is Islam itself. Every power that has tried to help, free, develop regions of the Islamic world has underestimated the power of Islam. Islam does not want to stabilize, and, given a chance, will destabilize the entire world.
c) Al Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Shahab, etc have done precisely what Mohammed did. Islam was born with a war very similar to the wars waged by these groups. There would be no Muslim anywhere in the world if Mohammed and his
followers had not waged that war and won it. You can call him a revolutionary
or a bandit, a visionary or a terrorist, depending on your religious views,
but there is no denying that he did pretty much what the various jihadists are doing in 2015.
And he did it for the same reason and the same purpose: to eliminate all other
religious beliefs and create a monotheistic society. The whole point of the
war that created Islam was to expel all other religions from Mecca.
His war was a religious war, in fact the first major religious war. Previous
empires didn't impose their gods on the conquered lands.
Mecca before him was a model of religious tolerance.
Mecca after him became the epitome of religious intolerance.
To this day, Muslims are welcome in Rome, the capital of Christianity, but
non-Muslims are banned from Mecca, the capital of Islam,
and mosques exist everywhere in the world
(including Rome itself) but no other religion can have a church or
a temple in Mecca: there is no stronger symbol of Islam's violent ideology than
the city of Mecca and its main monument, the Kaba.
Today's jihadists follow the letter of what Mohammed preached and did.
d) Nothing that the West, Russia or China do will defeat the terrorist groups. What would truly defeat them is simple: if one billions Muslims burned the Quran and destroyed the Kaba and converted out of the medieval superstition called Islam.
Seeing millions of Muslims convert to other religions would send a chilling
message to the terrorists.
Compare with the Christian world: what truly stopped the Catholic church from defending fascist dictators, colonial empires and ridiculous scientific theories was the exodus of millions of disillusioned and disgusted Catholics.
