Texan blues guitarist Albert Collins, a cousin of Lightnin' Hopkins,
was the leader of the Rhythm Rockers in 1949, at the age of 17.
His instrumental pieces, from The Freeze (1958) to
Don't Lose Your Cool (1963), via his tour de force
Frosty (1962), defined a "cool sound" at the guitar based on
loud sustained one-chord trebles and minor-key tunings.

e molto amplificati della chitarra (uno stile a un accordo solo), con tre fiati,
organo, basso e batteria; negli anni '70 dominera` la scena blues con
perfomance ineguagliate (Don't Lose Your Cool, 1963, Conversation With Collins)
e con il magistero del suo chitarrismo, il piu` influente sulle giovani
generazioni.
