Oakland-based rapper Del Tha Funkee Homosapien (Teren Delvon Jones), a member of the "Hieroglyphics" posse, was inspired by George Clinton's funkadelic music and sarcasm for his debut album I Wish My Brother George Was Here (1991), produced by his cousin Ice Cube. Less witty and more traditional, No Need for Alarm (1994), Future Development (1998) and Both Sides of the Brain (2000) relied almost exclusively on Jones' rhyming skills.

Deltron 3030 (2000) was a collaboration with Dan Nakamura and Kid Koala.

After a long hiatus, he returned with the mediocre Eleventh Hour (Def Jux, 2008).

The sprawling Golden Era (2011) actually consists of a new set of songs and two reissues of digital albums Automatik Statik and Funk Man. More than two hours of solid, old-fashioned rap.
