Gavin, Scott and Robbie Hardkiss are a trio of
San Francisco disc jockeys and producers that bridge the hippie and the rave
eras with one of the most inventive sonic arts of their times.
The EP that stands as their manifesto was
San Francisco: Magick Sounds of the Underground (Hardkiss, 1992).
Since then, the trio has specialized in eccentric psychedelic electronica via
lush, hallucinatory, orgasmic jams of acid, cosmic, techno-dub.
Gavin was born in South Africa and raised in Philadelphia, where he started
organizing "bliss" parties (the local version of raves) with buddie Scott.
In 1991 Gavin and Scott moved to San Francisco and shared an apartment with
Robbie.
Gavin has since released a fistful of singles under
the monicker Hawke:
3 Nudes in a Purple Garden (Hardkiss, 1993),
Acid Funk (Hardkiss 1996),
Erections from Namaquadisco vol 1 (Hardkiss, 1997)
Erections from Namaquadisco vol 2 (Hardkiss, 1997)

The debut Hawke album is Namaquadisco (Sunburn, 1998).
Hawke also recorded an EP, Monk For A Day (Fiji 2000).
Scott is God Within, that produced
Raincry, The Phoenix and Crucial Introspection.
The first two are masterpieces of their art.
Robbie is Little Wing, whose best known track remains Lightheaded.
Delusions Of Grandeur (Hardkiss, 1995) collects their early singles.
The album also includes Out Of Body Experience by Florida duo
Rabbit In The Moon.
