Anaal Nathrakh,
which is the British duo of vocalist Dave "V.I.T.R.I.O.L." Hunt and multi-instrumentalist Mick "Irrumator" Kenney,
topped the most extreme forms of black metal on
The Codex Necro (Mordgrimm, 2001):
insanely loud and frantic drums, tortured keyboards,
rudely-distorted riffs,
studio-processed psychotic vocals,
and deranged electronic ambience.
Total Fucking Necro (Rage Of Achilles, 2003) collects the early demos.
The six-song EP When Fire Rains Down From the Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown (Mordgrimm, 2003) presents a more conventional and straightforward facet of the project.
Other than toying with guitar solos and real singing,
Domine Non Es Dignus (2004),
Eschaton (2006) and
Hell Is Empty And All The Devils Are Here (Feto, 2007)
continued the more experimental program of
The Codex Necro (Mordgrimm, 2001) without much imagination but
unchanged ferocity.
