Toronto's guitarist
Eric Chenaux
played post-rock on Phleg Camp (1989)
before starting the Reveries, a trio that played covers of country music using
mouth-speakers to distort the sound (the sound of the guitar comes out of the bassist, the sound of the bass comes out of the guitarist's mouth, etc).
They debuted on Blase Kisses (2003).
Chenaux also released the solo albums
Dull Lights (Constellation, 2006) and
Sloppy Ground (Constellation, 2008), highlighted by his
advanced guitar techniques and an eclectic instrumentation (ranging from
synthesizer to banjo to sample machine), followed by many more solo albums:
Mynah Bird / Le Vieux Favori (2009),
Warm Weather With Ryan Driver (2010),
Guitar & Voice (2012),
Skullsplitter (2015),
Clot Valencia (2015),
Slowly Paradise (2018),
Fluff (2019),
Say Laura (2022),
etc; as well as collaborations such as
The Sentimental Moves (2012)
with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh,
The Byre (2017) with Norberto Lobo,
and the
mini-album Eloise Decazes + Eric Chenaux (Okraina, 2012) and La Bride (Three:Four Records, 2017) with Eloise Decazes of Arlt.
