by Jason Quever, delivered humble lo-fi pop on
Rejoicing Songs (Cassingle, 2000),
Mockingbird (Antenna Farm, 2004), Can't Go Back (Gnomonsong, 2007) and You Can Have What You Want (Gnomonsong, 2009), that included the
retro-pop novelty Future Primitive and
the languid psychedelic ballad Jet Plane.
After the tedious You Can Have What You Want (2009), containing
the retro-melodramatic Future Primitive, Quever aimed for
mainstream pop on the booming and slick
Fading Parade (Sub Pop, 2011), containing the naive
folk-rock of Do You Really Wanna Know, the
whispered dreamy elegy Do What You Will and other predictable ditties;
but all the songs feel incomplete, unfinished, spineless.
