New York's trio Peeesseye or PSI (keyboardist Jaime Fennelly, guitarist Chris Forsyth and drummer Fritz Welch)
debuted with the
free-form noise collage of Artificially Retarded Soul Care Operators (Evolving Ear, 2006), credited to PSI, and the demented cacophonous montage of
the 31-minute piece of the mini-album Oo-ee-oo (Burnt Offering) (Evolving Ear, 2006), pivoting around a guitar and a harmonium,
this time credited to Peeesseye,
turned to folk and noise music with Commuting Between The Surface & The Underworld (Evolving Ear, 2006) and
Mayhem In The Mansion, Shivers In The Sack (Evolving Ear, 2008).
Pestilence & Joy (2010) was the most indulgent of the series.
Jaime Fennelly and Chris Forsyth of PeeEssEye were also active as Phantom Limb, notably with the 30-minute free-jazz jam Hot Ginger (aRCHIVE, 2006) with Japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama.
Peeesseye's guitarist Chris Forsyth also released
For Linc & Abha (1998),
The_Who Had Begun His Career (2003),
Black American Flag (2004),
Golden Showers/Catastrophe of the Infinite Regress (2004),
Artificially Retarded Soul Care Operators (2005),
Live Journal At The Mice Machine VIP Dance Floor (late 2007),
Dirty Pool ( Ultramarine, 2009), a collaboration with keyboardist Edward Hansen,
Dreams (recorded between 2007 and 2009), with
Hansen again on sax and Nate Wooley on trumpet,
Paranoid Cat (Family Vineyard, 2011), with a roots-rock band,
Kenzo Deluxe (Northern Spy, 2012),
Forsyth also recorded guitar duets with Ernesto Diaz-Infante:
Left & Right (august 1999),
Wires And Wooden Boxes, March (2002) and
As Is Stated Before Known (2003).
