The Rosebuds, the North Carolina-based duo of guitarist Ivan Howard and keyboardist Kelly Crisp,
debuted with the naive, energetic and catchy male-female pop harmonies of
Make Out (2003), containing Boys Who Love Girls and Back To Boston,
and
the EP Unwind (2004), containing You Better Get Ready.
The brooding Birds Make Good Neighbors (2005)
and the danceable electronic Night of the Furies (2007)
revealed ideological confusion where there was childish enthusiasm.
The lightweight Life Like (2008) harked back to their debut, sounding
more sincere although less ambitious.
