Some Cake, the project of Mexico's vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Jose Chavez, staged a humble revival of 1980s gothic dance-punk on
the five-song EP Manual Para los Recien Fallecidos (2018) and the album
Girls Bite Harder (2018).
Senza (2022) enhanced the beats to sound like the generation of
Pet Shop Boys and
Eurythmics but without the
songwriting skills.
