Swiss trio 16-17 (saxophonist Alex Buess, drummer Knut Remond and guitarist Markus Kneubuhler) played pummeling dissonant improvised industrial-jazz music that
took inspiration from both Borbetomagus and Peter Brotzmann.
Early Recordings (Savange Land, 2006) collects the cassette Hardkore and Buffbunker (Vision, 1984) and the LPs 16-17 (1986) and

Gyatso (Pathological, 1994 - Savage Land, 2008), that also featured Kevin Martin on sampling machine,
Human Distortion (DHR, 1998) and Mechanophobia (Praxis, 1999).
16-17's percussionist Daniel Buess launched a new project, Mir, with
Mir (Savage Land, 2010).
