6.5 Avishkaar (1974)

Hindi filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya (1936), originally a cartoonist, directed Teesri Kasam (1966), based on Phanishwar Nath Renu's short story "Maare Gaye Gulfam", and a trilogy on the crisis of marriage in which he fused Antonioni, Borzage and Bergman, i.e. existentialism and Hollywood melodrama: Anubhav (1971), Avishkaar (1974), which is also the best of the three, and Griha Pravesh (1979).
