Donald Cammell co-directed Performance (1968) with
Nicolas Roeg (released only in 1970) and then directed
three of the strangest films of each decade:
the sci-fi thriller Demon Seed (1977),
White of the Eye (1987), an adaptation of Margaret Tracy's novel
"Mrs White" (1983),
and the erotic film noir Wild Side (1995).
Cammell killed himself in 1996.
