Delusional thieves and espicable human beings on the Internet
October 2009:
- A Canadian names Dave Strickson has copied my History of Rock Music on his blog http://folkmusic.quebecblogue.com/2009/07/11/dave-strickson-the-definitive-history-of-rock-music-pt-2/ and titled it as if it were his own work.
- This bio of the Rolling Stones http://www.rock-songs.com/rolling-stones/ is mostly copied from mine
- I frequently see artists' profiles on last.fm that are blatantly copied from mine. Please help boycott Last.fm
- The British coward Dave Strickson http://davestrickson.blogspot.com/ wins the 2009 award for "Internet Scumbag of the Year". He has reproduced the entire text of my book
"A History of Rock Music 1951-2000" (Iuniverse, 2003) ISBN 0-595-29565-7
and, of course, without mentioning who the real author is. This is what
highly incompetent and totally ignorant people do in order to pretend to be
masters of the topic. If you know him, spit on his face on behalf of the world.
- A close second is Google Blogger that makes it very difficult to have such thieves removed from the blogosphere. Basically, organizations like Google
Blogger make money out of texts reproduced illegally on their blogs and have
a vested interest in protecting the criminal. It's a little bit like when
the imperial powers were protecting pirates attacking commercial ships.
These are the people and organizations who are endangering free information on
the Internet. If people simply copy what i post and pretend to be the real
author, why should i post it? Instead of being thanked
for providing free material i get punished.
