What Creates Reality
- My father grew up in a world in which historians created reality
- I grew up in a world in which the media created reality. Countless people
were convinced that Sherlock Holmes truly existed, and that a daughter of the
czars was still alive (because of Hollywood movies).
- We now live in a world in which reality is increasingly created by press releases. Very few people circulate the analysis written by a distinguished scholar, but millions of people will post on their social media the press release
issued by a major company that acquired that scholar's work.
