Caring for the Future

  • Why do we care for the future of our planet and for the future of our race?
  • We think of the planet as our house and of our race as our family, even thousands of years from now. Indirectly, we assume that we are immortal, and this WILL be our house and our family.
  • Would we still care for the fate of the Earth if we knew for a fact that the human race will disappear exactly one century from now?
  • Would we still care for the inhabitants of the Earth if we knew for a fact that an unstoppable genetic mutation will turn the human race into a completely different race, beings with six arms and with wheels instead of legs, and maybe no brain whatsoever?
