I have been looking for volunteers to investigate the recording dates of classic rock albums. This should be an interesting chore because it involves contacting the protagonists (musicians, producers, engineers, studio owners) who are still alive, many of whom are legendary names. I am surprised that nobody seems interested in this important chore.

Rocco has been doing this for years but there are many many holes: see the current situation.

Once the protagonists (producers, musicians, engineers) are dead, it will be impossible to determine if an album was made before or after some other album, before or after some life event, before or after some historical event.

Jazz music has been much better at preserving this kind of information.

It should be interesting to get in touch with the musicians, producers, label managers, etc who shaped rock music in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, etc... or not?

If you are student, this can be configured as an internship on the history of rock music.
