The Pearson Arastradero Preserve, Foothills Park and Los Trancos Open Space are connected by trails.

Take the Page Mill Rd exit of 280 and drive towards the hills (west) and turn right into the first road, which is Arastradero Rd. The parking lot for the Pearson Arastradero Preserve is on the right handside of Arastradero Rd.

Cross the street to find the DeAnza/Arastradero Creek trail that connects with the Foothills Park. Turn right into the Panorama trail and left on the Chamise trail. Look for the Los Trancos trail (slight right on the paved road) and follow this trail for about 6-7 kms to the Pony Tracks fire road. From this junction follow the fire road to the Page Mill trail and continue ascending: you are now into the Los Trancos open space and you are 4 kms from the San Andreas fault trail. On the way back you can take the Costanoan trail to the Fern Loop to the paved road, a faster way to return to the Panorama trail.
