Seattle's Ventures, formed in 1958, had one
of the biggest hits of instrumental rock with
Walk Don't Run (1960), written by jazz guitarist Johnny Smith and performed (by Bob Bogle) with an emphasis on tremolo guitar, Later, with Bogle on bass
and new guitarist Nokie Edwards, they repeated that exploit with
Perfidia, a theme composed by Mexican songwriter Alberto Dominguez.
They employed one of the earliest fuzzboxes for 2000 Pound Bee (1962).
