Goblin, originally named Cherry Five (1974) and devoted to lengthy suites of symphonic prog-rock,
specialized in soundtracks for the horror films of director Dario Argento, particularly Profondo Rosso (1975) and Suspiria (1977), but also later ones such as
Phenomena (1985) (the CD reissue is only instrumental and only includes Goblin's music) and Nonhosonno (Pick Up, 2000).
They scored other gory movies, such as Patrick (1978) and
Contamination (1980),
but also, for example, the romantic comedy Amo Non Amo (1979).
They only made two albums that were not commissioned as movie soundtracks,
Il Fantastico Viaggio Del Bagarozzo Mark (1978), which employed a vocalist (Massimo Morante) and Roller.
