The Accused (from Seattle), fronted by vocalist Blaine Cook, jumped to the
forefront of the legions that blended hardcore and metal in a lethal,
breathless potion with the EP Martha Splatterhead (Condor)
and the trilogy that followed:
The Return of Martha Splatterhead (Subcore, 1986),
More Fun Than an Open Casket Funeral (1987) and
Martha Splatterhead's Maddest Stories Ever Told (1988).
They disbanded after Grinning Like an Undertaker (Nastymix 1990) and
Splatter Rock (1992).
The Curse of Martha Splatterhead (Southern Lord, 2009) sounded like
a faithful imitation of the classic sound of the Accused.
