English quintet Dead or Alive, consisting of
Pete Burns (vocals), Wayne Hussey (guitar), Mike Percy (bass), Steve Coy (drums) and Tim Lever (keyboards),
recorded a few lame songs like
The Stranger (1982) and
Misty Circles (1983),
before the album
Sophisticated Boom Boom (1984), whose highlight was a cover
KC and the Sunshine Band's hit
That's the Way I Like It.
Thanks to hit makers Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman, who
concocted one of the most demonic dance-pop singles of the 1980s,
You Spin Me Round (1985), off their album
Youthquake (1985), they were briefly famous, but they remained
a one-hit wonder because Brand New Lover,
off Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know (1986), went nowhere and the
band fell apart.
Pared down to the duo of Burns and Coy, Dead or Alive returned
with Nude (1988), which includes Come Home with Me Baby.
