that permeates also Midnight Juice (Rockadelic, 1991).
The single A Thousand Years/ At The Gate (Direct Hit, 1993) and the
album Crazy Stone Head (Helter Skelter, 1994)
display an hallucinated form of roots-rock that bridges
Meat Puppets and
Giant Sand.
The lesson of the 13th Floor Elevator permeates
Bag Of Fear (Lost, 1995).
Hit The Core and My Dark Star are the standouts.
But the single
The Older Child's Song already marks a departure from their
affair with the 1960s.
The heavier, darker
Journey To The Center Of The Monkey Skull (Lost, 1997)
drifts towards
Kyuss and stoner-rock.
