Chamber Music, 6/10

Coal Chamber is a quartet from Los Angeles (Bradely "Dez" Fafara on vocals, Rayna Foss-Rose on bass, Miguel "Meegs" Rascon on guitar, Mike Cor on drums) that performs a diligent imitation of Korn and Deftones. Coal Chamber (Roadrunner, 1997), with Loco, belongs to the late (but gruesome) grunge season.

The brave Chamber Music (Roadrunner, 1999) takes a "progressive" turn, absorbing even elements of electronica and classical music and yielding more psychological songs (My Mercy, Tyler's Song).

After Coal Chamber split, Fafara formed Devildriver (Roadrunner, 2003), a project of psychological metal.
