Ohio-based Evolution Control Committee, the project of Mark Gunderson,
inventor of the "thimbletron" and other custom-made electronic devices,
pioneered the mash-up genre with irreverent sound collages of famous songs
and assorted audio artifacts.
He debuted with cassettes like Notes Of Nihilistic Bliss (1988), Buddha Bleach (1990) and Gunderphonic (1994). His album
Double the Phat and Still Tasteless (Eerie Materials, 1996)
was half electronic experiments and half comedy skits.
Plagiarhythm Nation (Seeland, 2003) collects some of his most famous
mash-ups, like Rocked by Rape (1998) and
We are on The Fucking Moon.
After Weapons of Ass Destruction (2004), released as DJ Pantshead,
he crafted the double-disc All Rights Reserved (2010).
