Influenced by British synth-pop, New Jersey's duo P.M. Dawn
(Attrell "Prince Be" Cordes and Jarrett "DJ Minutemix" Cordes) crossed over
into mellow catchy pop with
Of the Heart of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience (1991).
The Bliss Album (1993) and Jesus Wept (1995) progressively
became more and more pop, less and less rap.
If the former is a rather dull transitional album, the latter is a marvel
of pop production.
