While all the hoopla went to the innumerable British "next big things",
Seattle's Super Deluxe followed the same path to immaculate pop of the
Posies and achieved what had been eluding rock
music since the Shoes.
On their first album, Famous (Tim Kerr, 1995), singer
Braden Blake carries divine tunes like
Lizadrin, She Came on and Holly's Dream Vacation,
while the band crunches out a few grunge riffs.
Via Satellite (Revolution, 1997) continues in the same vein, just a
little lighter in sound, but the memorable refrains are still there
