| Il bassista Krist Novoselic dei Nirvana ha stretto amicizia con la cantante venezolana Yva Las Vegas e insieme hanno formato i Sweet 75 (Geffen, 1997). Il risultato e` un disco un po' confuso, che alterna strappi hardcore (Bite My Hand) a rhythm and blues (Red Dress), country & western (Ode To Dolly) a tex-mex (Six Years). hard-rock melodico (Fetch) a blues (Japan Tree). La cantante domina il gruppo con il suo registro "nero" e le sue pose melodrammatiche. E qua e la` tradisce il suo retaggio di musica leggera esotica, jazzata e orchestrale (La Vida). Ma il disco e` fondamentalmente privo di vita (e di ispirazione), con momenti davvero imbarazzanti. |
