Dopo essersi trasferito a Seattle,
David Allen, l'irrequieto bassista dei Gang Of Four e dei Low Pop Suicide,
ha pubblicato Elastic Purejoy (World Domination, 1994),
che e` di fatto il suo primo disco solista e potrebbe benissimo restare la sua
opera maggiore.
Affiancato dal batterista Scott Petersen (ex
Sky Cries Mary) e dal chitarrista Marc Olsen
(dei Sage) e
ispirato all'accademia dei futuristi britannici
(Brian Eno, Robert Fripp e David Bowie), Allen riesce finalmente a concretizzare
le sue ambizioni di coniare il dialetto di una ballad al confine fra synthpop e
hardrock. (Witness, You Are My PFM).
The Clutter of Pop (World Domination, 1996) dopo That Disgust Will Allow si trasforma in un album di musica strumentale d'avanguardia. |
