What Makes It Go , 6/10

Independently of Stereolab, Sweden's Komeda defined a catchy kitsch music for the electronic age. Inspired by Abba, Kraftwerk, lounge music, spy movie soundtracks, They released more than 20 records during the 1990s but surfaced with the albums Pop Pa Svenska (1993) and Plan 714 Till Komeda (1995). The Genius Of (Minty Fresh, 1996) compiles material from their early releases. What Makes It Go (Minty Fresh, 1998) is charming but hardly revolutionary (Flabbergast).

They returned after a six-year hiatus with the radio-friendly Kokomemedada (Minty Fresh, 2004).
