France's Antaeus toiled at the border between black metal and grindcore with their fast, intricate Cut Your Flesh And Worship Satan (2000),
De Principii Evangelikum (2002) and
Blood Libels (2006).
Aosoth
was the side-project of
Antaeus' vocalist Magus Kaiser Munkir,
devoted to lo-fi incandescent and galvanizing black metal on the trilogy of
Aosoth (Total Holocaust, 2008),
Ashes of Angels (2009) and especially
III (Agonia Records, 2011), whose six lengthy songs pulverize all cliches
of the genre.
Members of Antaeus also played in French supergroup
Hell Militia, that released
Last Station On The Road To Death (2005),
Last Station On The Road To Death (Debemur Morti, 2010) and
Jacob's Ladder (2012).
