Beneath The Lake are the San Francisco-based duo of
Nicolas Lampert (of Oakland's avantgarde duo Noisegate that had released
The Towers Are Burning and Suspended Animation)
and
Dave Canterbury (Wisconsin's Wage Class Slave).
Their psycho-ambient music with found sounds was introduced by
the droning essay Inside The Passage (2002), inspired by
natural sounds,
and by the relatively melodic
Silent Uprising (Glass Throat, 2005), inspired by
urban sounds and performed with
guitars, keyboards, percussion, sound effects and field recordings.
