Deadly Snakes

The Deadly Snakes, a sextet from Toronto of guitar (Andre StClair), keyboards (Max Danger), saxophone, trumpet, bass and drums, played rowdy epyleptic soul-tinged garage-rock reminiscent of Fleshtones, J Geils Band and New York Dolls on Love Undone (Sympathy for the Record Industry, 1999).

Greg Oblivian of the Oblivians joined the band for I'm Not Your Soldier Anymore (In the Red, 2001) but his addition had the effect to dampen their verve.

After the transitional folk-rock of Ode To Joy (2003), the Deadly Snakes turned to slick roots-rock bordering on power-pop with the lushly arranged Porcella (2005).
