New Zealand's soundsculptress Gydja (Abby Helasdottir) specialized in dark ambient electronic suites such as the the shamanic concept Liber Babalon (2001), the 79-minute piece of Cold Seed (2001) and the seven-movement symphony Rivers (2002), that resorted to a form of digital musique concrete. She later produced the produced subliminal droning music of Umbilicus Maris (Mystery Sea, 2007), the two lengthy esoteric meditations of Helchemy (2008) and the industrial/cosmic Mecanique Celeste, off Machina Mundi (2008).
