The Headlights (from Illinois), fronted by the vocal harmonies of
Tristan Wraight and Erin Fein, offered a not particularly original take on power-pop with
Kill Them With Kindness (2006).
The more mainstream arrangements of
Some Racing Some Stopping (2008) did not alter the nature of their
simple pop creatures: they made them more sellable to the masses.
The main quality of their music remains though: the lightweight nonchalance
that contrasts with the self-important pomp of most pop muzak.
Wildlife (2009) was more of the same.
