Drakeo the Ruler, aka Los Angeles rapper Darrell Caldwell, became known thanks
to
Mr Get Dough (2015), remixed by producer Dijon "DJ Mustard" McFarlane,
and the
mixtapes I Am Mr. Mosely (2015), I Am Mr. Mosely 2 (2016),
So Cold I Do Em (2016), which includes Impatient Freestyle,
and
Cold Devil (2017), which includes Flu Flamming.
Alas, he was jailed in 2017 and spent the next three years in and out of jail
(for murders committed by a gang of which he was a member, as stated in his
own mixtapes).
While in jail, he recorded the songs for Thank You for Using GTL (2020)
that were then literally telephoned to his producer JoogSzn.
This fact turned him into a sensation. The music and the lyrics, unfortunately,
were simply boring.
