Gucci Mane's protege Juaquin "Waka Flocka Flame" Malphurs,
released the crunk/trap classic Flockaveli (2010),
mostly produced by Lexus "Lex Luger" Lewis, one of the albums that pushed trap
into the mainstream.
The album discovered a catchy combination of
visceral nonsensical rapping and feverish, brutal, thundering beats,
best exemplified by the iconic hit Hard In Da Paint.
This style changed trap music forever, leaving behind the original form
developed by Gucci Mane, Shawty Redd, DJ Toomp and Drumma Boy.
This influential album was followed by a mediocre
collaboration with Gucci Mane, Ferrari Boyz (2011) and by his second album,
Triple F Life - Friends, Fans & Family (2012), on which Luger only
produced Round of Applause.
