San Francisco-based singer Gabriella Wilson, one of
Beyonce's many imitators in the 2010s, debuted as H.E.R. (Having Everything Revealed) with the widely publicized EPs H.E.R. Volume 1 (2016) H.E.R. Volume 2 (2017), which includes the single Say It Again, and The B Sides (2017), compiled on the album H.E.R. (2017), all of them produced by David "Swagg R'Celious" Harris.

The EPs I Used to Know Her - The Prelude (2018), which includes Could've Been, and I Used to Know Her - Part 2 (2018), which includes Hard Place, were compiled on the album I Used to Know Her (2019).

Her single I Can't Breathe (2020), composed by Dernst "D'Mile" Emile, speculated on the police assassination of George Floyd and the demonstrations that erupted after that event.
